Counsel

“If we desire respect for the law, we must first make the law respectable.” – Louis D. Brandeis

AREAS OF PRACTICE

  • Employment Discrimination

  • Sexual Harassment

  • Retaliation

  • Wage and Hour

APPROACH

My approach to legal practice is a mixture of logic and storytelling.  Often, a legal problem can be reduced to a basic logic proof where given a certain set of facts, the outcome is a well defined result.  Yet, the law is a living instrument, constantly evolving together with society as a whole.  Thus, I seek to make decisionmakers feel the facts of the case to push the law beyond its antiquated rules based on a past society and move the law into the future.

EXPERIENCE

Prior to joining Mesidor PLLC, I spent nearly a decade at several small to mid-size employment firms, representing exclusively employees in discrimination, retaliation and wage and hour matters.  Utilizing my extensive knowledge of employment law, I have successfully advocated for my clients in lawsuits before federal and state courts, in arbitrations, in mediations and in informal negotiations, consistently securing favorable results.

PASSION

I am extremely passionate about the law.  While the law regularly fails to approach true justice, the law has incredible potential to change society and to change how we think about and interact with one another.  This potential is particularly evident in employment law where the case often turns on people’s perception of what statements and actions are hostile and indicative of bias. I am, therefore, passionate about using the law as a vehicle to move our society towards greater equity.

PERSONAL TOUCH

I am a diehard Michigan football fan and a fantasy football enthusiast.  So, in the fall, you will find me cheering on the Wolverines on Saturdays and pulling for the players on my fantasy teams on Sundays.
